The challenge

What they needed.

1881 Ventures was rebranding. Stepping away from a prior identity that no longer reflected what the organization had grown into, they needed a name, direction, and presence that could represent them credibly to founders, investors, and civic partners while staying rooted in the El Paso–Juárez Borderplex they serve. The team was part of that process from the earliest strategy conversations.

Our approach

What we did.

01

Part of the rebrand from strategy to launch

The team was embedded in the rebrand from the start. Direction decisions were shaped through those conversations, including the name itself. This was not a handoff situation where someone else made decisions and we executed them visually. The positioning, the naming direction, and the identity brief all ran through the team.

02

Site built from scratch

The site was designed and developed from the ground up. No template, no prior site to build from. Architecture, content hierarchy, and visual direction were all built to establish credibility immediately. Every section was designed to answer a specific question a founder, investor, or civic partner might bring to the homepage.

03

Built for growth

The build was structured so the 1881 team could manage and expand content without needing a developer. Program pages, event listings, and portfolio content are all editable through a CMS built into the site.

Straightforward process, no surprises on cost, and the final product looked like we spent twice what we paid. We've gotten comments on the branding from people who don't even know us. That's when you know it landed.
